I found Beth Cavener Stichter by reading Mariah's blog. Here's her website:
If you are interested in sculptural processes, I highly recommend reading the link called "Materials and Techniques". She has definitely shared a LOT of very useful information that probably took years for her to develop and discover on her own!
YES! I love her work. Her artist statement is also worth reading.
ReplyDeleteThis stuff is really cool! Id be interested in seeing more of it.
ReplyDeletedamn that is soo dope. what is it made out of?
ReplyDeletewow thats really awesome! I saw the picture Mariah had on her blog but didnt do too much research on the artist.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS SOOOOO COOL. I like how most of her pieces are pretty morbid but so intriguing and weirdly beautiful at the same time....
ReplyDeletewow the detail and accuracy of her art is amazing. id be curious to find out how much time she'll spend on average on an individual piece.
ReplyDeleteDang! her pieces are so cool! I really am intrested in finding out for about how she makes her pieces
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much time she spends searching for the right way to show her view, and how long it takes her to create this vivid piece of art.
ReplyDeleteguys, c'mon! you are killing me...if you want to find out more about this artist, stop looking at the ONE picture I posted and CLICK ON THE LINK I PROVIDED!
ReplyDeletethat horse looks super cool. ill for sure check the link to find out more about her.
ReplyDeleteOn the website it shows how she made one of her pieces step by step... she said it takes 3-5 months. I don't know if I would have enough concentration for a piece that size
ReplyDeletei like the one of the 2 goats kissing. thats my fave. does she use clay? it looks so clean and white... anyways sorry this is late and doesnt count. i did my blog on tuesday before yours was up and then i forgot to go back on but nevertheless, this artist is cool!
ReplyDeletesooooooo cool!!!! i love how detailed everything is! i wonder how much those things weigh...
ReplyDeleteI really like this. I like how she doesnt have too much going on.... All there is, is a horse and some handcuffs, but it's art, and it says so much just by being something so simple.
ReplyDeleteher style is really cool, i'm tempted to almost try something like it but i'll have to look more into how she does it.
ReplyDeleteI checked out the link and i think everything she makes is really cool. i love how she portrays humans in animals and hows there emotions in their body language, its a great idea i want to try something like that.
ReplyDeleteVery very cool artist. I have seen her stuff before in one of the books in Amys office. I love the anatomy of the animals and the humanistic symbolism that they portray.
ReplyDeleteI like the detail and the attention to every part of her work. The realism is amazing, but I could never see how she can stand to spend so much time focused on one individual piece. Maybe its just me.
ReplyDelete....theres no new blog? i cant keep checking every hour to see if youve posted it amy! haha jeez keep up with your work!
ReplyDeleteNo new blog Amy?
ReplyDeleteThis artist is amazing and how she portrays a message using simple things is awesome.
