I came across this ceramic artist in the magazine Craft Arts International #79. Wendy Hoare works primarily with COILS!!!
Most of her forms are large-scale and meant to be displayed outside in garden landscapes or in conservatories.

ReplyDeleteI love this old lady! Her pieces are so pretty, they all flow together really well. It's so cool she makes everything out of coils and they are such large pieces.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that she uses coils to make these large vases. Props Wendy! She is really impressive.
ReplyDeletethis is so awesome!! I don't think I could ever get to this level, but it's so cool to see someone who is this successful in coils, and I want to aspire to make my pots as perfectly and as cool as this!
ReplyDeleteI really like the glaze/finish she used as well as the earthy colors.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe this was made from coils! It looks really awesome.
ReplyDeletegreat work.
ReplyDeleteso i guess i will comment again on this for this weeks post?
ReplyDeleteum, remind anyone of an acorn?
ReplyDeleteThis has actually made me really want to make a coiled pot that is inspired by some shape in nature, because this reminds me of an acorn so much. I have actually always wondered what the benefit of making coiled pots is, but I can see that a pot like this would be really difficult to do on the wheel, so making it from coil gives you more control of the shape. Very cool.
ReplyDeletelove it!!!
